​HIICAP of Herkimer County works directly with Medicare beneficiaries to educate them about the Medicare Program, Medigap policies, Medicaid, Medicare Advantage Plans, Long-term Care Insurance, Low-Income Subsidy Programs, employer-sponsored insurance, and other health insurance programs available in New York State.

HIICAP also provides information on low-income programs such as the Medicare Savings Program(MSP), the Low Income Subsidy or "Extra Help" program, and pharmacy discount programs. New York State also offers the Elderly Pharmaceutical Insurance Coverage (EPIC) Program, to Medicare beneficiaries 65+ with qualifying incomes. These programs may pay part of your monthly costs, offer discounts, or provide full medical coverage.​
